UPCOMING EVENTS
INFORMATION

Dear Members,

We got our first snow storm of the season and still had a good turnout at our General meeting at Tango on Friday, November 19th, which speaks well of our stalwart membership. We are continuing to provide virtual access to our meetings via Zoom. I’m still working on the process for sharing the PowerPoint slides through Zoom rather than trying to capture them through the camera on my computer. Hopefully by our next meeting in January I’ll have my technical kinks worked out.

Thanks to Barbee Buchanan for updating us on her progress with the Kinderhaven Tree, Helen Tapp for advising us of the seasonal closure of the Healing Garden, Mary Sturgis for the Blankie Project, and Sherry Fulton for providing the status and instructions for the Senior Giving Program.

KINDERHAVEN

Barbee Buchanan is looking for gifts to go under CAL’s tree for the Festival of Trees supporting Kinderhaven. Our tree will be displayed at The Alpine Shop at 2d and Church. Recommendations for gifts are things such as books for young children as well as for pre-teen and teenage children, puzzles, coloring books, throws, stuffed animals, journals, even things that can be used at the home itself such as detergent, bathroom tissue, wipes, etc. Use your imagination. All items will be most welcome and appreciated. There is a space provided in the Clubroom at Bizarre Bazaar for collection of these gifts.

Senior Giving Project

Sherry Fulton has organized the process for the Senior Giving program this year and outlined the process for collecting our senior gifts. We have 100 names this year, considerably more than previous years. These shut-ins are in great need of our help. She also made some recommendations for the sorts of generic things that will be appropriate, as indicated in her article about the project.

Thanks to everyone for your continued support of these worthy projects. I’m looking forward to seeing you at our Christmas luncheon and wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving.
