Dear Volunteers, What a lovely September we have had! Our customers have been taking advantage of the mild weather to come in and shop. And it is not just our local folks, but people from elsewhere. Last week I was chatting with a woman from Saskatchewan, who was traveling with her family to visit friends in Oregon. Her friends mentioned that if they were passing through Sandpoint, they had to make a point to stop in at Bizarre Bazaar. Word of mouth is invaluable! She was told that not only was Bizarre Bazaar a wonderful place to shop with incredible deals on upscale merchandise, but that the volunteers were very friendly and helpful. Impressive job, volunteers! Your work is noticed. It is getting cooler by the day, so just a reminder that we are no longer putting out summer merchandise. Halloween décor will hit the floor shortly. I do believe that Carol has some spooky things to delight everyone with. To answer the question from a cashier the other day who left a note in the end-of-day envelope – yes, a cashed-out gift card may be reused. Just make sure that it is completely clear, then you can either reload it for the customer, or replace it in the gift card holder for another customer to use. Unlike gift cards from large corporations, ours do not use a pin, so they are rechargeable. And just a reminder about food items – this is the time of year that the little rodents who have been outside during the summer are looking for a nice warm place to spend the winter. Yes, we have seen recent signs that mice are checking out our store. Please make sure your food wrappers are disposed of properly and that you have not left a trail of crumbs. Wipe the break room table when you have finished your lunch. Make sure your food trash makes it to the large dumpster at the end of the day. The mice may not appreciate it, but your colleagues will. On another note, we are still looking for new Team Leaders. If you are interested, please contact one of your managers. |

Please sign up on our Volunteer Scheduling Tool! Please remember to sign up for a shift, or two, or three….We have had feedback that it has been difficult to log into ClubRunner and the scheduling screen. Robbie Gleason (208-627-2983) has been very helpful in getting people back on line.
We want to thank our Team Leaders and volunteers who have worked so hard this summer. Team Leaders are working 3-5 shifts a month with small teams and a lot of customers and donations. Now that summer vacation is over, it is time for you to step up and help. We would love to see you and would enjoy the help.
