Dear Members,
Happy Spring! True to form, April is showing us showers to generate those beautiful May flowers. Hang in there – summer is right around the corner!
I thank Joyce Spiller for the suggestion to reach out to Kaniksu Land Trust to offer Community Assistance League's (CAL) help with any of their projects. It was so rewarding to participate in the Grand Opening of the Aster Garden Center on April 11. Although the weather wasn’t ideal, the customers were excited and the nursery was lovely. Many thanks to Carla Lariza for hanging with me for several hours, and to the CAL members who contributed their treats. CAL received many compliments on our delicious goodies and Katie Cox, the Kaniksu Land Trust Executive Director, was especially appreciative. Stay tuned for our next opportunity!

I am sure many of you have received my President’s letter, sent earlier this month. If you have not already done so, I would appreciate you filling out your survey card and dropping it in to the mail. This will be a chance for us to get a better idea of how we can improve the attendance at our general meetings. Thank you.
Please make sure to note your calendars to attend our June 8 Celebration of Giving event. It is such a fun way to recognize our grant and scholarship recipients, and so heartwarming to hear of the ways the non-profits support our community and the plans the students have for their future. This event will also be the last gathering before we break for the summer. I certainly hope you can make it.
Thanks to all of you for helping make CAL successful! You and our customers are our heroes, by donating, volunteering, and shopping at Bizarre Bazaar.
