Dear CAL Members,
As I mentioned 2 weeks ago, we have an invitation for a private tour of the newest exhibit at the Bonner County Historical Museum. The CAL Grants Committee funded another of their grant requests this past year, this time for some display cabinetry. As it turns out, these display cabinets figure prominently in the latest exhibit: WUNDERKAMMER, curio cabinet. Heather Upton, the museum’s curator says she was inspired by the Cabinet of Curiosities from the 15th century, which was in fact the precursor to the modern day museum.
Heather will be hosting 2 tours, Tuesday, October 2, and Wednesday, October 10, starting at 11:00 a.m. The tour should take 30-45 minutes. If anyone would like a more in-depth museum tour, Heather is also available following the scheduled WUNDERKAMMER tour.
There were sign-up sheets at the September General Meeting. If you were unable to attend the meeting but would still like to take the tour, please contact me directly at calsandpointgrants@gmail.com.
