Upcoming on October 3
Good day CAL members,
Fall is in the air...We are welcoming the rain with open arms. Bless the firemen who have spent their summer fighting these raging forest fires. And their families who wait eagerly for them to return home safely.
The CAL board met Wednesday, September 2nd to begin planning the upcoming year. We have a wonderful group of ladies, as usual. Our year is going to be filled, once again, with so many BB volunteers. We always look forward to forming new friendships, and making lots of money together for our community.
Convoy of Hope Request for Member Support
Our first upcoming event is The Convoy Of Hope, arriving in Sandpoint on October 3rd. It will be held at Bonner County Fairgrounds starting at 10:00 a.m. They are in need of 900 volunteers to help make this day of helping others successful. We have volunteered to help distribute shoes. I volunteered to collect and distribute children's books. It's the teacher in me. What better place to share the gift of reading?
That being said I would love to ask each member to bring a gently used book to our meeting this month. I already have 15 boxes stacked in our garage. My darling husband Tom just loves me so much.....he's sharing his space. Dixie will be sharing more details at the September meeting.
