Special Message
“Sandpoint’s 4th of July Parade"

Dear Members,

The following is a special message from our Past President Barbee Buchanan on the significance of the 4th of July Parade and the importance of CAL's participation
.

Thank you
Linda Zinn

I would like to put a call out to all of the extraordinary ladies in CAL! Sandpoint’s Annual 4th of July Parade is one of the finest Norman Rockwell moments of the year!

Literally thousands of people line the streets to watch one of the greatest small town parades that can be created! So, as we honor our outstanding country, we can also show our wonderful town who “CAL” is! With flags flying and music playing, wouldn’t it be amazing to have all 249 members walking for CAL? What an impression that would make!!! People don’t realize just how many women it takes to give over $100,000.00 a year to our community!

We all have lots to do on the 4th, but it only takes an hour to meet and walk the parade…and it’s stop & go. As we carry our flags, imagine a field of blue tee shirts…That would definitely be a show stopper!

One year my husband heard a man standing in a crowd ask, “Who are those ladies?”  Another man said, “That’s the Community Assistance League. They are one of the greatest organizations in this town!”

Please join in this year and show Sandpoint who we are.

Thanks,
Barbee Buchanan
