GRANT RECIPIENTS - 2017

Dear CAL members,

It was so wonderful to see those that were able to attend our general meeting on Wednesday. We thankfully work all year to provide the funds for our grants and scholarships. Bobbie Franklin and her committee provided a wonderful meeting. It is always a joy to see and hear from the recipients about their projects. Thank you for staying for this long meeting - it is so appreciated.

Next month will be equally fulfilling when Betsy Walker and her committee present our scholarships to students ready to enter college and those returning. We hope to see you at the meeting. Our June meeting will be the last until fall - how time flies when we are having fun!

Ladies and Robert, thank you for your dedication and hard work. A big shot out to Cherie Warber and Diane Arrants for your guidance as store managers. What a wonderful team you are!

We announced a wonderful surprise at the meeting - the store will be air conditioned sometime in June. The attending members approved the expense to purchase and install the system. Thank you for your approval! The landlords and CAL will split the cost of the system - around $1900 each.

Thanks to Tina Reynolds and her amazing team, our Spring Luncheon enabled us to give $1,232 to the Lions Club in support of the 4th of July Parade that they sponsor each year for the community. P.S. Be sure to put the July 4th Float Decorating and Parade on your calendar - more news on the activities to follow.

Mark your calendars for Friday, June 16. Bizarre Bazaar is going to be a part of Sandpoint's Art Walk. This event is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We are displaying works from our local artists, some of whom are CAL members. You can read more about the details in the Bizarre Bazaar Corner article.

See you in Dover on June 3rd, between 8:00 a.m. and Noon, for the 5th annual Paws For A Cause.

Hope you had a wonderful Lost In The 50's weekend.

Fondly,
Linda Zinn
