Don't forget the cocoa and cookies for
Santa Claus.

He is going to need a warm-up this year!

Dear CAL members,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone -  it’s that most festive time of the year. Each of us celebrates the holidays with our own individual traditions. We decorate our homes, sing songs, and prepared foods tied to family memories. We invite family and friends into our homes to reminisce old times and to cheer on the coming New Year. My wish for you is to have a wonderful and beautiful holiday season.

I am so looking forward to our December 14th CAL Christmas luncheon. It is one of my favorite CAL gatherings - drive carefully & see you there. There is still room on the bus if you want to ride to lunch with your friends!

I want to take this time to say thank you for your senior gift donations. This is a wonderful way we show our seniors they are not forgotten. A huge hug and thank you to our members, Esther Inselman, Sherry Fulton, Mary Daubersmith and a special thank you to Mary McGinnis of the Sandpoint Area Seniors who organized and delivered our gifts.

December's recipe is Quiche Lorraine which we always make for Christmas morning.

1 9-inch unbaked pie shell
2 cups grated Swiss cheese
6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
3 T. green onions
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 cups half and half
1/2 tsp. salt, a dash pepper and a dash of nutmeg
2 T. grated Parmesan cheese

Sprinkle cheese, bacon and onions over bottom of pie shell. Beat eggs, half and half, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Pour into pie shell. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.

Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
 Enjoy!

Have a Blessed Christmas!
