Dear CAL members,

Wasn't Wednesday's meeting fun? I enjoyed meeting our guests and new members and seeing the FAMILIAR faces of our CAL ladies. For those not able to attend, it was also a treat to have Robert join us to tell us about the wonderful income provided to CAL via the auctions to which he takes our 'castoffs'. It just goes to show, if you serve goodies and chocolate, they will attend. Thank you to Charlene and Dan Matheson for their delightful presentation. They both are so very talented. Charlene has some wonderful surprises for us in the coming months. Thanks again Charlene.

Our guest speaker, Kate McAllister, head of Sandpoint’s Chamber of Commerce, was a delight. She was informative and a very entertaining speaker. Thanks to Kate, for including CAL in her busy schedule.

Autumn has surely arrived. I've been making blueberry and pear jam. Canning is new to me and now it's time for applesauce. I feel so domestic! I also have 10 gallons of apple juice fermenting in the coat closet. Hard cider should be ready by Christmas.

Thank you to our board members for an awesome first meeting. Also, thank you to Karen Hanna. She is our talented and invaluable newsletter coordinator and website manager. She gives many hours developing and posting our twice a month newsletter to keep our members informed when they are not able to attend a meeting.

I hope you had a beautiful weekend.
Linda Zinn
