This little story reminds me of some no nonsense women I know, particularly my mother!
A police officer phoned into his commanding officer that he was at the scene of a crime. A woman just killed her husband because, she said, he walked across the wet floor she had just scrubbed.
The C.O. asked his officer if he had arrested the woman.
The officer said no. The C.O. asked why not?
The officer said “Because sir, the floor’s not dry yet.”
