BIZARRE BAZAAR SUMMER NEWS

To the most incredible volunteers ever!

Big news at Bizarre Bazaar……you who volunteer or have just dropped by the store are already aware of the volumes of wonderful donations pouring in. Your hard work in sorting, pressing, cleaning and getting the items out to the floor has really paid off! Our total for June is the best ever, coming in a whopping $16,758.85, topping March 2016’s $15,026. Once you rest up, massage those tired muscles and cool down, reach right around and give yourselves a big pat on the back. Diane and I are so thankful for all you wonderful people. Thank you!!

Being a holiday, we won’t wear you down with too much more news, but want to touch on a few little items.

- Pricers have been getting a little creative on placement of tags…. remember, it goes in the left underarm seam on tops and dresses or the left waistband seam on pants, skirts or shorts. Not only is the tag hard to find, but can leave a hole in the fabric. There is a picture at the pricing station if you get confused. There is also a picture at the pricing station of the proper way of filling out tags. Please use only the top portion for size and price (using the $ sign is a good idea as just two plain numbers can confuse the best of us). The bottom of the tag below the perforation is for markdowns. A few items have been discovered without prices and, yes, several items were found this last week with no tags at all! I know we are anxious to get things out, but let’s take a little time to do it correctly.

- The floor is pretty full right now with all these great donations so we have the capability of being rather choosy on what we put out. Right now it’s in the 80’s, yet we are seeing heavy jackets, slacks, jeans, turtlenecks (except some sleeveless ones) lurking amongst the pretty summery things. It’s the time to delight our great customers with light, bright and fun clothes! Also, with the floor so full, please don’t pull back stock…Cherie or Diane will fill in as needed.

- BB has been teeming with shoppers looking for that great deal. Due to your diligence and effort in making the shop run, we are building a reputation as a destination for good merchandise, fair prices and awesome volunteers. And it’s not only clothes that sell, but furniture, household items, linens, books, jewelry, crafts, children’s…. the list goes on. Word has passed around about our selection of books…Monday I kept track of the number of books I personally rung up and it was 25. The legacy has been established! Let’s keep the momentum going!

I hope you had a chance to celebrate of the birth of our great country (and participated in the parade on the 4th!), but be safe. CAL's Float honored our wonderful "Women of Wisdom". We want to see you back in Bizarre Bazaar real soon!

And last, but most certainly not least…a HUGE thank you to all you ladies who have so selflessly spent hours slaving over a hot iron or in front of the monster steamer to get the clothes ready to go on the floor. A hot job anytime, but especially with the summer weather. You are goddesses in our eyes!

In appreciation for all you do,

Cherie Warber and Diane Arrants
